-Our studio is NOW centered around an SSL 4000G analog console feeding an HD3 excel Pro Tools system running on a MAC G5
with Apogee AD/DA converters, KRK mid field monitors (with sub), and studio standard Yamaha NS-10 near field monitors.
Highland Recorders is a boutique style studio that can accommodate budget, style, and most importantly,
the feel and sound you want in your recording.
We have real engineers who have done real projects and pride themselves on making sure that the artist likes what they hear!
Studio A has a 48-Channel Euphonix 2000-series analog console feeding an HD3 Excel ProTools system with Apogee AD/DA converters and features top Calrec and Avalon pre’s, as well as KRK V8 and Yamaha NS-10’s
Studio B is equipped with a Pro Tools HD2 system running on a G5 computer, Control 24, Alesis HD24, OSA API pre’s, and Manley EQ’s/Limiters/Compressors and Genelec 1032A

Highland Recorders is a fully featured Class A studio with several amenities and multimedia resources at its disposal.
The facility was built from the ground up, with construction beginning in mid 2005 and doors opening by February of 2006.
The conception of the studio and its function was designed as a place where
producers, bands, and labels could record in a comfortable relaxed environment while still being in the heart of the city of
Phoenix. The studio has a welcoming creative flow, enjoyed by many bands and producers, both national and local. The
return business of the studio is a testament to Highland’s professionalism and great service that it provides (see client list).
- Producer/Engineer/Owner, JIM WOODLING, has been in the music biz professionally
for over 17 years, starting as bass player and co-founder with the band PHUNK
JUNKEEZ and shortly after as a studio engineer.
- Jim has been working in studios since 1998 learning and growing as an engineer and producer. He has expanded that engineering/producing talent to all genres, working along side the likes of engineers and producers such as Grammy winning mix engineer JEFF POE (SANTANA, GUNS AND ROSES, STEELY DAN), producer KEN MARY
(ALICE COOPER, MEGADETH), producer JIGGOLO (YOUNG BUCK, RICK ROSS,
50 CENT, ICE CUBE) producer DJ SLIP (DR. DRE, SNOOP DOG, DEATH ROW RECORDS), and producer SHEP CRAWFORD (WHITNEY HOUSTON, BOYZ II MEN, LUTHER VANDROSS, 98 DEGREES, TAMIA HILL)
- Jim feels equally at home mixing an album for the likes of FALL OUT BOY (“Live in Phoenix” CD/DVD, “Folie A Deux” CD release show live in NYC/national movie theater mix), tracking and mixing hip hop for national or top local artists (BUSTA RHYMES, HANNIBAL LEC, JIGGOLO, WILLY NORTH POLE, ROC A DOLLA, BLOCKSTAR etc.) , or being a producer and putting together a group of
session musicians to record a complete album (ZELLA DAY, KATHY MABRY, MICHAEL PAUL, COLTON AVERY, SLANG 5).
